I learned that in writing, specifically personal essays, there are moments which stand out to you, the writer. These moments shape how your paper progresses and may allow a connection with the reader. These moments include but not limited to moments of emotions, discovery, crisis, and others. They are called moments because they are significant in your life, and are important to have you remember them. In my personal essay, there were moments in my life, which I attempted to use to connect with the reader, but could not overall. The key moments in my personal essay was a crisis/problem on wanting to know, but towards the end there is a moment of discovery. This discovery is the possibility of never knowing. Sharing moments in writing are important as they allow a deeper understanding of the writer and they are better able to connect with the reader.
